Entirely self-taught, Max Baby is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter whose instinctive ear and synaesthetic approach fuel a sound that defies easy categorisation. Born in rural central France, where no music scene existed, Max built his own drum kit out of cookie jars at age six and taught himself piano and guitar. His musical journey—driven purely by curiosity and determination—led to collaborations with artists like Weyes Blood, Drugdealer, Kirin J Callinan, and Clara Luciani, as well as producing Hannah Jadagu’s acclaimed debut for Sub Pop.
Now stepping out under his own name, Max crafts vivid, nocturnal alt-rock that blends analogue textures, live instrumentation, and inventive production. His debut EP OUT OF CONTROL, INTO THE WALL was recorded at Greasy Records Studio, the former home of prog legends Magma, with a raw, live-band ethos. Stay tuned for more new music from Max to follow.
